Expensive is a relative term
Most people are concerned about saving money, and generally speaking this is a reasonable attitude to life. But another proven principle also says that money should only be saved where it makes sense. Let’s be honest: Is it clever to buy an inexpensive, low-quality product that will likely be repaired or returned to the manufacturer or dealer after only a few months? The answer is surely “no”.
Weber MT machines cannot be in the lower-cost segment, because consistent quality and performance demand higher prices. For this reason we can grant a two-year warranty on all our products without hesitation, and for several products it can even be extended to five years.
Our extremely low warranty expenditure proves we’re right. The amount we spend on warranty and ex-gratia payments is a little less than one per cent. For years it has been below the average percentage that the VDMA, the German Engineering Federation, established for the industry.
Taking this as an indicator, it makes sense to invest in quality and customers have good reasons to think that a higher price pays off, at least with reference to machines manufactured by Weber MT. Performance is our top priority. Seen from this point of view we’d rather talk about performance-price-ratio, and not the other way round.
With best wishes,
Matthias Weber
